Outlast Profile Explorer
A small tool that lets you read and edit Outlast profile files, which contain user settings such as volume, sensitivity or gamma.
Installation
Download the tool from the latest release of this repository or the speedrun.com resource.
Usage
To get started, you will need to find your profile file. Its location depends on whether you are playing through Steam or not:
- Steam:
<STEAM_INSTALL_DIR>\userdata\<YOUR_STEAM_ID>\238320\remote\profile.bin - No Steam:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Outlast\OLGame\SaveData\Player1.olprofile
GUI
To edit your profile using the GUI version of the tool, open it and press Browse to load your profile file. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the file onto the executable, which will open the tool and automatically load the profile.
If you would rather start from scratch, you can press the Load defaults button to load the default settings.
After making desired changes, make sure to save the profile using the Save or Save as button.
CLI
If you prefer editing your profile from command line, you can do so using the same executable. The functionality revolves around two commands:
- Reading a profile file:
outlast-profile-explorer.exe read <FILE> - Editing a profile file:
outlast-profile-explorer.exe load <FILE|defaults> [set ID=VALUE]... write <FILE>
Below are some examples:
outlast-profile-explorer.exe read profile.bin
outlast-profile-explorer.exe ^
load profile.bin ^
set PSI_GammaSetting=1 ^
set PSI_TextureQuality=PQL_Low ^
write modified_profile.bin
outlast-profile-explorer.exe ^
load defaults ^
set PSI_Resolution=SR_1920x1080 ^
write Player1.olprofile
